Using Localhost on IIS 7 raises an error
Q: The problem I am facing is that the IIS 7 page (with the familiar logo) does not appear by typing the usuall http://localhost at my webbrowser, instead it appears only when typing the IP address 127.0.0.1.

The error message I get is the usual  "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", and the port I am using is (I checked it from the bindings dialog box) 80.

I checked the hosts file in system32 and localhost does map to 127.0.0.1, so what else can i do?

A: Please turn off the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration or firewall and see if it helps.
