By default activities are ordered by ID numbers generated sequentially by the system.
If you want to change the order of activities you can create a 'text' type custom field for activities. By entering numbers such as 1.1 or 1.2 to the field for every activity you can order them the way you like. Use up or down triangles in the column header to sort activities by that custom field.
1) GoTo 'Administration' -> 'Custom fields':
2) Create a custom field corresponding to the type of the activity (e.g. All activities):
3) Left-click beside an activity name to open the contextual menu, choose 'Quick edit' from it and add a sequence number:
4) Now sort your activities by the custom field:
Alternatively, you can drag-n-drop activities in the Interactive Gantt but the activities order you setup in the Interactive Gantt will not change the default ID numbers used on the Activities Classic page.
