Q: Why can't I add a dependency to an activity? The activity I want to add as a dependency seems to have a problem, when I select "Starts when started" it's fine, but if I select "Starts when finished" the option to choose certain activities disappears.
A: Do you have an end date, for the first activity? It needs to have an end date, so the dependency knows when to start - if it doesn't have an end date, it will never end so the dependency can never start. You also need to make sure you're assigned to the activity.
Q: Ok, did that, but now I can't add a date, only add a number of days, for some reason it wouldn't allow me to specify an end date while it was dependent on another activity, why?
A: This is because the relationship between the two is dynamic - let's say you have two activities, A and B, and B is dependent on A. You want to change end date of A, so B has to have a duration of x days, otherwise if B has a set end date and you change the end date of A, then it may overlap B. By making B's duration x days, its end date will always move along as A's end date moves along.
