Q.
Are there limits to how many projects and activities I can put into Easy Projects? I notice that the screen takes much longer to update with more info.

A.
There are no system limits, as such. But EP allows for an unlimited hierarchical structure, of activities and sub-activities, so the rendering of many projects and activities with sub-activities is very resource intensive and can cause a long wait time for the tree-view to be rendered. Given that there is a performance hit with the hierarchy depth and rendering the visual representation of activities and sub-activities, it's actually not so much a server thing as the horsepower on your client machine and the ability to render the screen.

There are a couple of things you can try to keep a large amount of projects and activities with sub-activities from updating the screen info in a timely fashion:

1. Disable showing completed projects and activities (using the quick panel on the left of the screen or in User menu - My Options).
2. Filter the activity list page - filters settings are stored in database and so if you choose to only view 1 or two projects at a time, the time to render these will be insignificant compared to rendering all.
Here's the example: to open activities for a single project only use the corresponding item in a project's contextual menu:

3. Use the quick panel to disable hierarchy view, this will flatten out every activity, but will render much quicker.
4. Switch to Firefox browser, which has little overhead itself and renders very quickly.
5. Free up resources on the client (your computer), i.e. close all programs.
6. Go into the detail screen of the activity, and edit there, instead of quick editing it on the list view page.

Also the speed of loading a Web page depends directly on the internet connection speed if EP is installed on a remote server.

For example, the Activities Web page's size can be several megabytes depending on the number of activities, so if your internet connection speed is e.g. 1 megabit per second - i.e. practically it's about 100 kilobytes per second - the 2 MB Activities page will be loaded in 20 seconds.
Many small to medium businesses have DSL connection, the bandwidth of such line is shared among users. The 1 megabit connection from the above example shared among 10 users will give you only about 10 KB per second for such type of connection.
