Visually differentiate project and activity message boards
Idea shared by Heather Ouellette - March 1, 2017 at 6:43 PM
Under Consideration
I have a number of licensed users who infrequently contribute to Easy Projects. They often wind up posting attachments and messages at the project level, rather than the activity level where our guest users (most of our project partners) can see them. This causes delays and frustration.
It would be great if we could either make the project and activity message boards look different, or have a warning display on all our project-level message boards that guest users will not be able to see any messages/attachments posted there.

The visual similarity of the project pop-up and activity pop-up remains a problem, including for frequent users who have been well trained. With the speed of our projects, it's too easy to accidentally post to the project instead of the correct activity. Will there be visual differentiation added in the near future? Even a colored background for one of the message board text boxes (e.g., use a light gray background instead of white for the type window on the project message board) could be enough to make people pause. Thanks.

Hi Heather,
Thanks for your suggestion, I can see how it could be useful to differentiate between the project level and activity level message for those that don't often log in. I will pass it along as a suggestion.
For now what I might recommend for those users is instead of going through the activity centre maybe they could use the My Assignments page to post their messages/attachments. That way they will only be posting in the relevant assignment level and not on the project level. Also FYI we also have an updated version of the My Assignments page in the works that will make it a lot more user friendly.

Thanks, David. These are users with limited familiarity with Easy Projects (and typically are managers with limited time for training). It's most expedient to send a direct link to a project activity where they can quickly post their approval/feedback on something.
I look forward to seeing the new My Assignments page.
