View all project activities
Idea shared by Heather Ouellette - March 16, 2017 at 6:27 PM
Proposed
I often use a saved filter/view in the activity center to find open project activities that have a certain status. From this filtered view, I can then open the activity that requires my attention, but it leaves me blind to the other activities within that project. To find out what else is happening on the project without leaving the activity center, I have to copy the project name, close the open pop-up, choose a different activity center view that would expose all open activities, and then search for the project again.

This is inefficient. Can we add the "View all project activities" button that used to be available at the project level in the old view to both project and activity pop-ups? With this navigation gap, the "new" view is actually decreasing my productivity. Thanks.

Hi Heather,

When you are in the filtered view and are looking at the list of activities under a certain project, instead of opening a new AC view could you click the Advanced Filters button and turn on some additional filters like the extra status types or just check the main In Progress status filter (this should show you all other activities under the same project).

Let me know if this works for you.

Hi,
This does solve the visibility issue with the activities for the selected project, but I'd like to keep my Activity Center filtered so the list of projects only includes those projects that have the activity status we use when something needs my attention. Expanding the Activity Center filters to show all in-progress activities means that once I've finished with the project I have open, I then have to go back to my filtered view or filter again to find the projects flagged with the status used for items that require my attention.

It's creating an extra step that I didn't have in the old view because I could click "View all project activities" from the project details view and then return to the filtered Activity Center. Less-frequent users may not even realize they have an active filter that's limiting what they see; they may miss activities that require their attention within a project.
