More options needed on the new "My Assignments" page
Idea shared by Loic Bertrand - August 23 at 1:25 PM
Proposed
Hi,
The new "My Assignments" page is great, it has improved vs older one. However some features are missing:
- We can't tag tasks as "favorites" anymore. That was great to have them on top, whatever their priority
- Tasks that are late are not visible anymore. Should be red.
- Sort options are very limited. Should be multi-criteria, and easy to filter like in the activity center.
- I love the timer and use it continuously. Often times I work on several tasks and it is cool that the timer of current task automatically pauses when I start a new one. Cool as well, the current timer is red and easy to find. To ensure that I stop them all at the end of the day, I would love to have the ones that are paused highlighted as well, in purple or similar.

Thanks for your good job!
Regards,
Loïc

Hi Loïc,

Thank you for your message. To answer your questions/suggestions:

1) We are working on adding the ability to sort your activities by importance, allowing you to drag and drop activities in the importance filter/list, so that will be a similar function to tagging an activity as a favourite.

2) Showing late tasks as Red is something we are also working on.

3) For My Assignments, as it is only a list of your tasks it was felt the filter/sort options didn't need to be extensive. If you need to see a more comprehensive sorting list we then, as you mention, we do have that ability in the activity centre and you can create custom views to just see your activities in what ever sort order you need.

4) Our developers commented that maybe a different color for paused activities is a very good idea and they will look into the possibility of adding it.

If you have any other feedback or suggestions please let us know.

many thanks,
David

Hi David,

Thank you for your answer and suggestions, this is useful. A few comments:
- I have not received any email notification that you had posted an answer, I would have read it earlier. Is there a way to get one?
- Reg. item 3, I agree that there are more sorting options in the activity center; I will investigate that. However we can choose only 1 criteria for projects and 1 for activities. I cannot for instance sort by project priority, then by project end date or progress, then by activity priority and finally by activity end date. That would be useful, although I admit it may not be as easy to setup in EasyProjects as it is in an Excel spreadsheet...

Best regards,
Loïc

Hi,

Another option that would be useful and certainly easy to implement on the "My assignments" page: checkbox to display or not the activities with start date in the future.

Best regards,
Loïc

Hi Loic,

I will look into why you didnt receive any notification when my answer was posted.

Your idea about multiple sorting options has been suggested before by other users so we are aware of it and it is on our future update roadmap.

We are exploring ways of controlling how future tasks are shown on the new My Assignments page so if I hear any updates relating to that functionality I will let you know.

thanks,
David
