More Vibrant Messaging
Idea shared by Eyu-Jin Kim - April 19, 2016 at 12:41 PM
Would it be possible to have a more visible messaging center added to the top level tabs?  For example, a clear indication for messages so that we don't have to scroll through projects to find a new message.  Thank you very much.

Thank you for your idea, Eyu-Jin Kim - and currently the dashboard widget called what's new shows all recent messages posted with hyperlinks from any proj/task you can access, alternatively, you can create a custom report which just reports on messages and then turn the report into a dashboard widget - see this help file on both widgets and custom reports
what's new
custom reports
If you need more info about this or either of those links just ping us in Easy Projects using the ?? icon in the lower right of your EP screen to open a chat.

Yes - the what's new dashboard is helpful; however, it would be great to have better visibility to just focus on messages and clearly see to which project the changes are associated.  Having to click filter by project seems cumbersome and not very dynamic.

Agree with Eyu-Jin. A quick view of all messages/post associated with a project - at least. It seems logical to me that this appear in the Project Card. There-in under messages would be a consolidated list of all the messages/files in the associated Tasks and Sub-Tasks. Rather than having to click through each task individually.
I believe Eye-Jin is taking this opinion to the global level. Also helpful, but as stated, by project at the very least. Not sure a dedicated message foum is necassaru, but Eye-Jin may think otherwise.

Hi Eyu-Jin, Mario,
Thanks for the feedback - there is definitely some value to this idea.
I have to thoughts that I'd like your feedback on:
  1. Mario's idea of having messages roll-up to the project level is a good one but I am concerned about it becoming a bit unwieldy and you could lose the context if they were all dumped into one place. What about having a project level notification that there is a new message in the project - similar to the blue dot that is currently at the Activity level? You could expand the project to view the message on the Activity.
  2. In the very short term, you could add a custom report to your Dashboard to show you any new messages on projects over a date range. Let me know if you'd be interested in this and I could reach out to add it.
As always thanks for the excellent suggestions.
