Tasks Shorter than One Day
Idea shared by moved from Easy Proj - Get Satisfaction page - July 30, 2014 at 9:18 PM
Completed
When I am creating a task in Easy Projects I cannot assign a duration of less than one day. I’d like to be able to assign the duration in hours. Typically tasks with a duration of a day are acceptable, however there are instances where hours duration makes more sense. A couple of examples of a task with an hours duration would be a status update meeting with the client, or a team meeting at the start of a week or a summary meeting at the end of the week. These don’t take up a whole day, but scheduling them as part of the project time line, especially when a client meeting could be a milestone, would be very advantageous to ensure that team members can see what they might have on their agenda. Similarly, if I create my project in Microsoft Project and import it into Easy Projects it converts my part days into full days; it would be nice if it maintained those distinctions. Andrew

Currently we don't plan to support task duration less than 1 day.

I hope Easy Projects revisits this... We have many tasks that would benefit from this in our line of work.

Hi Lindsey et al,

Just a quick note to let you know that we'll introducing this feature in this coming quarter. Exact date is still uncertain, as are most things in software development :)

I'll be certain to let you know once we go live with it.

We've got quite a bit planned for the near future so stay tuned and keep the feedback coming.

Hi all,

Just a quick note to let you know that today we released this feature in Easy Projects.

You can now create Activities in the exact number of days, hours and minutes that you choose (down to a minimum of 15 minutes).

We're also going to do a quick demo webinar on Tuesday August 9th at 12pm EDT. We'll show how to use it and how it affects things like Dependencies and the Gantt chart - all very cool.

We'd love it if you could join us. Registration is free and easy: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/3655724806113576450

Hope to see you there.
